The Setting

The story of Tiger the cat and Kristen Lindsey takes place in Brenham, TX. Brenham is a small town, with a population less than 16,000. Lindsey shot Tiger with a bow an arrow in a residential neighborhood, and the picture showed a large green bush so I can assume that (although Texas is very dry) there is plenty of plant life in Brenham.

Kristen Lindsey must not have felt out of place using a bow and arrow in this residential area, so it probably had a suburban set up with large yards and ample space between houses. She claims to have thought Tiger was a feral tomcat, but in actuality he was the beloved pet of a neighboring couple who let him roam in and outdoors as he pleased.

The layout of the town has not changed drastically since this image was created in the late 19th century. The population has increased slightly but that is about it.
